  2. This document and the ArtValve™ 1.0 Remover application are needed only by users of ArtValve 1.0. If you have never used ArtValve before, just follow the directions in the Read Me file for ArtValve 2.0. New users may begin setting up and using ArtValve 2.0 right away.

  4. If you currently use ArtValve 1.0, you must remove it from your AOL application before trying to install, set up or use ArtValve 2.0. The two versions of ArtValve are not compatible.

As you recall, ArtValve 1.0 had to be installed in your AOL application in order to work. The new version is different. It is a control panel that does its work in the system. ArtValve 2.0 does not require any modifications to the AOL application itself. However, version 1.0 must be removed from the AOL application.

  8. The Remover is designed to do just that—remove ArtValve 1.0 from AOL and restore it to its original state. It is easy to use and has online instructions, but read these notes first:

  10. • Use the ArtValve 1.0 Remover provided, instead of your original installer. Yes, the original installer can also remove, but the new Remover is more reliable.

  12. • If you run anti-virus software, you will want to turn it off before running the Remover. The Remover needs to modify your AOL application, and some anti-virus software will interfere with that.

  14. • Remember to turn your anti-virus software on again when the removal is finished.
  15.
